School's Out for Summer!

Well, school's out! Children and teachers are out of the building - this is always the sadest time of the year. The building becomes a shell of a museum of learning. Many people ask, "Well, then what do you do there?" Summer work is lots of planning, purchasing, scheduling, hiring, filing completing school reports and improvement plan data, and generally alot of the behind the scenes work before the new school year begins. A good administrator will take this time to prepare for the work ahead - one to three years out! And, of course, a little vacation!

This year, I'm going to LA with Emily. She is going to attend an International Rotary Conference while I read books by the pool! Nice, eh?!! Later, just before school I will be going to Seattle for some Leadscape training. Maybe some long drives or visits to places close by -- but the first trip will be to Sacramento to visit bro Bob. All 3 Wallace girls and Momma Wallace will be on a boat with the little bro fishing! I will post a pic of this event for sure! Then we go on to a wedding in Reno where I will once again become She Who Dances at Weddings.

Time for the Cookie Exchange!

Here are a couple of pics from last Christmas Cookie Day with the women of the family. To this I write:

Twas 2 weeks before cookie day, and and to my dismay, an idea for the apron came not into play. The recipes were typed and ready for others, while the presents for the white elephant met my drothers. So I, in my jeans and magazines looked for a spark, it came to me so that I yelled, "Hark!" When what to my wandering mind should appear, the memories of past Christmases dear. On to Michael's, the closet and little bits of scrap. I knew in an instead it wouldn't be snap! From the top of the apron, to the bottom of the hem "Merry Christmas to all, lots of cookies for them!

Blog On!

Well the Bandon Trip is done and well worth while! David and I really enjoyed the fast paced driving trip. The Oregon coast is really beautiful and I hope we wil go there more often. We also saw lots of other sites that we intend to go back to -- like Yosemite! But our next great trip is Las Vegas is celebrate our nephews 21st birthday.

So the trip is done but the bloggin' must go on hence the new blog - Momma Winans, etc! This way I can continue to post any bloggin' thing that I write! Enjoy!
